Scotland Fish Overview

Scotland marks a shift back to freshwater fishing, offering a more relaxed experience compared to the demanding waters of Costa Rica and Alaska. As the fifth classic map, it comes with a lower overall difficulty, making it comfortable for experienced players while still introducing a few engaging challenges. The map is slightly smaller, which helps focus exploration, and it features a healthy mix of common species alongside several rare and surprisingly accessible epic fish. Rather than overwhelming complexity, Scotland rewards observation, timing, and efficient spot rotation.

Map highlights: notable Fish on Scotland in Creatures of the Deep.

three-spined stickleback

A daytime shadowless fish with no real difficulty, although results can feel inconsistent due to other species sharing the same area. Starting from the southern spot near Mc Fisher island helps narrow things down and makes early attempts more stable.

gudgeon

Another daytime shadowless fish, mainly found near the river mouth in the north. The location gives a clear starting point, even if nothing else stands out in terms of difficulty.

european smelt

A night-only shadowless fish found at the eastern spot. The area is also shared with rainbow trout, which can interfere with catches. A slower approach (clearing them during the day before returning at night) can make sessions smoother.

bull trout

An epic fish that remains somewhat demanding to find despite being active both day and night. Rotating between the northern waterfall spot and the southern area is often needed, with the northern side generally feeling less crowded.

scottish salmon

A daytime epic fish with a very recognizable mini-game. The narrow and fast-moving perfect zone stands out immediately. Both available spots behave similarly, so trying each helps settle into a rhythm.

common sturgeon

The easiest of the three epic fish, only active at night. Its large shadow makes it easy to distinguish, and the spot near the cave remains the most reliable place to focus on.
